Busisiwe is a seasoned nurse with over 30 years of diverse experience across government and NGO sectors, specializing in community/primary healthcare and programs addressing HIV/AIDS, TB, STIs, maternal and child health, human milk banking, disability, and key populations. Her notable role as a Director in the South African Police Services Health and Wellness unit highlights her expertise in supporting law enforcement personnel, including developing a training manual for police officials on LGBTQI+, drug use, and sex work, and training over 1000 officers as station trainers.

Her international work includes providing health support in conflict zones like South Sudan and Ethiopia, and collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross in refugee camps, offering displaced individuals health services, shelter, and food. Busisiwe's research contributions span TB programs, feeding interventions, and health service impact analysis, working alongside prestigious institutions like the University of KwaZulu Natal.

A master trainer, she has facilitated training on a wide range of health and social issues for police officials, community-based organizations, and traditional leaders. Additionally, she has an educational background that includes a Doctoral degree in Nursing, Master’s in Nursing, a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Business Management and Marketing from UKZN, a BTech in Occupational Nursing, a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, and multiple diplomas.
